Parking: Street parking available in front of School and there is also parking in the parking lot located at the corner of South Elm and Gregory Way (one block north of Olympic Blvd.). Proceed to 2nd Floor of School Library.

The members of the community advisory committee are appointed by, and responsible to, the governing board of each participating district. Appointment is in accordance with the Special Education Local Plan for the Tri-City SELPA. The community advisory committee is composed of parents of individuals with exceptional needs, parents of other pupils enrolled in school, pupils and/adults with disabilities, regular education teachers, special education teachers and other school personnel, representatives of the public and private agencies and persons concerned with the needs of individuals with exceptional needs.
 
The priorities to be addressed by the committee are parent education, encouraging community involvement, supporting activities on behalf of individuals with exceptional needs, assisting in parent awareness of the importance of school attendance and additional activities supporting SELPA activities set forth by the state.
 
Participation of audience: Persons in the audience during the meeting of the Community Advisory Committee are asked not to talk during presentations or meeting discussions. Please make sure your cell phone is turned off or silenced at this time.
 
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Persons wishing to address the CAC on any item on the agenda will be granted two (2) minutes at the time the item appears on the agenda. In the case of a non-agenda item, persons are invited to comment under “Public Comment.” In the interest of time and order, presentations from the public are limited to two (2) minutes per person. The total time for non-agenda items shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes.
 
Prior to addressing the CAC, please complete a card and give the card to the Vice Chair/Secretary of the meeting. Please state your name, address, and organization before making your presentation or comments.

3. DISCUSSION ITEM: Optimal Tri-City SELPA Communication and Information Dissemination methods to Parents/Interested Parties.
4. DISCUSSION ITEM: What are Parent Training Needs and how can the Tri-City SELPA assist in meeting them.
5. INFORMATION ITEM: Each Director of Special Education will report on their relevant District activities.
6. INFORMATION ITEM: The Interim Director of the Tri-City SELPA will report on AB3632 and other relevant State and Federal legislation or information related to Special Education.
7. INFORMATION ITEM: Final Meeting of the School Year: May 9, 2011 at Culver City Unified School District.
