Los Angeles Marathon in Beverly Hills Sunday, March 21, 2010
For the first time in marathon history, more than 20,000 runners will race through Beverly Hills – passing City Hall and traveling along Rodeo Drive. Nicknamed “Stadium to the Sea,” the marathon begins at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and passes through West Hollywood and Beverly Hills before ending near the Santa Monica Pier.
California Healthy Kids Survey

Your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), sponsored by the California Department of Education. This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment, and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. Your child does not have to take the survey. Participation is voluntary and requires your permission.
Kindergarten and New Resident Pre-enrollment will begin on February 1, 2010

Children who will be eligible to enter kindergarten or new resident enrollees at any grade level in the Beverly Hills Unified School District next fall may be pre-enrolled in the their next year’s grade level at the school within their zone commencing February 1, 2010
Beverly Hills Board of Education Unanimously Agrees to Compromise on Opportunity Permits

On January 12, 2010, the Board of Education determined that opportunity permits will not be granted for the 2010-2011 school year, with the following exceptions for students currently attending the Beverly Hills Unified School District on an opportunity permit in 2009-2010:
students on opportunity permits entering 8th grade for the 2010-11 school year and students on opportunity permits entering 10th, 11th and 12th grade for the 2010-11 school year.
Summer School 2010 Dates Have Been Set

Summer School Dates have been set for June 28 – July 30, 2010. The first session of high school summer school is June 28-July 14, 2010. The second session is July 15, 2010 to July 30, 2010. Monday, July 5, 2010 is a Federal Holiday and schools will be closed.

Beverly Hills High School Educator Recognized as Educator of Distinction
The Beverly Hills Unified School District and the staff at Beverly Hills High School is proud to announce that Joanie Garratt, history teacher at Beverly was recently recognized by the National Society of High School Scholars, with the Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction Award.
