Success Story: Instrumental Music Ensembles
Students at Beverly Hills High School who are interested in instrumental music have several options from which to choose. We currently have a 50 member string orchestra, a 71 member Band and a 35 member Symphonic Band. These groups perform several concerts each year here at school as well as performing at other functions in Beverly Hills and other communities. The Band has performed at a number of athletic events this year and is preparing for a special performance at Disneyland in February. This group has also performed for the Beverly Hills Education Foundation at its "Walk For Our Schools" event as well as for the Rotary Club and the Class of '85 Reunion. The Orchestra is currently preparing for a performance in the "PIT" for our musical production - "The Pirates of Penzance" and a competitive music festival which will be held in Buena Park in May. This group has performed for a "Thank-You" luncheon for the volunteers of the Beverly Hills Public Library. The combined Band and Symphonic Band will perform at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Febuary 20 as part of a special Hilton "Kick-Off" program to introduce the new staff and management to the community.
